It’s no secret that I love me a man in uniform. And lest some of you think that it’s only about the handcuffs, let me just clarify: the hose is cool too.
Okay that sounds just as kinky.
Whatever.
Firemen. I will never not swoon for this uniformed type. Sure, a good cop, the authority thing, the gun, the badge, the cuffs, it’s all fine and good.
But firemen, they just have a whole nother’ appeal, dontcha think?

My interaction with the blond firemen on the main road I drive daily to and fro work has me feeling more than a spec tongue tied tonight. Rest assured I will be back with more details of said encounter when I’m able to gather my thoughts and cool off.
(It’s not so much of an encounter as a mere conversation that just about made my month. Yes, that’s right. Month. So it doesn’t take much to amuse me, and what?)

uh - hell yeah?
I looooove going to firemen’s conventions with my dad! Plus, since I know about the trucks and such I have an “in” - life is grand sometimes!
July 25, 2007 at 10:32 pm
Do scrubs counts as a uniform? If so, I I LOVE men in uniforms too.
July 25, 2007 at 10:39 pm
If we were younger, and I was someone else and, well, we knew each other “for real” I would say something like OH YEAH YOU DID!
But none of that is the case, so I’ll just say woohoo!
July 25, 2007 at 11:02 pm
I used to work near a fire station. If it was nice we would go hang out nearby on the off chance that there would be a fire and we’d get to watch them slide down the shiny pole.
Yeah!
July 25, 2007 at 11:32 pm
I think it’s the whole super-hero thing
there is a firehall up the hill from my house, seemingly staffed with the best looking firemen ever - Maggie may have wandered in there of her own accord on a few occasions and charmed the pants off of them
yet another reason dogs are better than kids …
July 26, 2007 at 12:16 am
I love men in uniform as well.
Who am I kidding, I just love men.
:)
July 26, 2007 at 12:44 am
Doctors, firemen, cops. Hell, even a guy in dirty coveralls holds a certain appeal. Although I’m not sure what’s more fun; Experiencing the full effect of a man in uniform or wondering what lies beneath? :)
July 26, 2007 at 1:12 am
I know EXACTLY what you mean ;) I have dated a fireman captain….Talk about HOT!!!!
July 26, 2007 at 2:19 am
Firefighters….*swoon*
July 26, 2007 at 6:45 am
“The hose is cool” - now that put a wicked smile on my face!
July 26, 2007 at 7:46 am
“the cuffs”
Dirty. And funny.
Ok, I can’t wait to hear more about the encounter/convo.
July 26, 2007 at 8:32 am
I knew there was a perfectly good explanation as to why you weren’t visiting my blog anymore.
July 26, 2007 at 9:47 am
I expect a “steamy” story….
July 26, 2007 at 10:12 am
I love a man in uniform too. What is that about? lol
July 26, 2007 at 11:15 am
well you know I’m partial to my policeman :)
July 26, 2007 at 11:25 am
Ooh, I adore a good fireman. Yum! It fits in with my “being rescued” fantasy!
July 26, 2007 at 11:26 am
P.S. I love the title of this. But, just so you know, that song is stuck in my head now!
July 26, 2007 at 12:07 pm
Y.E.S. I love a uniformed man…doctor, fire fighter, police, whatever, it is all good. Can’t wait to hear the details…
July 26, 2007 at 12:17 pm
A blonde fireman???? Whoever has heard of such a thing. Are you sure he isn’t a stripper dressed up as a fireman? :)
Can’t wait to hear about it.
Oh, and can we please talk about the hair pick of the week? Please tell me that isn’t a guy that you snapped a pic of on the street! If so, I don’t know why you are talking about a fireman — I have a crush on hair guy :)
July 26, 2007 at 1:23 pm
Can’t wait to hear all the juicy details!! Or are they HOT details??? I’m sure they’re a bit of both ….
July 26, 2007 at 2:19 pm
Ahhh firemen. I think I’ve mentioned this before with you, but I have this ‘image’ of a fireman, yet when my house burnt down every guy that showed up looked like my grandpa and was named ‘glen’. Glad to see that you are finding someone to raise your temperature. Man, there’s just so many good lines you can say in regards to this….
July 26, 2007 at 2:45 pm
Don’t want to make you jealous but I am currently dating a Fireman (and his nickname is Hot (insert name here)…and the uniform does it for me everytime…But there are many fireman out there who use there status to swoon the ladies, and many already have a lady…so be careful…they are a boys club afterall.
July 26, 2007 at 2:58 pm
you should see the “pompiers” here in paris… omg!!! and they are all fit and in shape… they jog in the mornings and it makes me want to trip one of my students to get their attention… ::biting knuckles::
July 26, 2007 at 2:59 pm
I love it ( he he) when my patients pull the fire alarm at work and the “boys” have to come to clear the call - a lovely day!
July 26, 2007 at 3:06 pm
I once dated a paramedic who was studying to be a fireman. He was the sweetest, gentlest, most charming fella. He made me feel so … safe. It helped that he was hot.
Firemen always light my fire. Heh.
July 26, 2007 at 4:16 pm
You know that hottie Joaquin Phoenix played a firefighter once.
July 26, 2007 at 4:51 pm
“yet”
July 26, 2007 at 10:19 pm
bre- i knew that you would appreciate this one!
ally- scrubs so count. um, dr. mcdreamy? uh huh.
justrun- haha, that comment made me laugh. extra hard.
meno- i wish i lived THAT close. lucky lady.
kathryn- i love how you just casually threw in the bit about charming the “pants” off them. literally?
joiedevivre5- well looky who it is! you have resurfaced. woot! i know you love men. that’s why we get along so well and have the same name. right?
lala- good point! haha.
appletini- that’s what im sayin!
ruby- hi lady! swoon is right!
chickybabe- haha, im glad you’re smiling with me!
July 26, 2007 at 10:36 pm
amanda- you do know about my just slight obsession with cuffs right? did i just admit that?
aaron- hmm. well i have been cutting back on blogging altogether. been really busy. firemen lookers need to be embraced when the opportunity arises. just so happens im right on top of that.
ammaners- i might need to make something up then.
the diva’s thoughts- it’s just something about it all. i dont know, but it gets me every time.
kimberly- i do know that! and you make an attractive couple judging by those pictures! :)
beth- “being rescued fantasy”.. i like that one!
beth- you are the only one who mentioned the song! it was stuck in my head as well.
tori- all of those are great!
undercoverceleb- yes, a blond firemen, for reals! you noticed the hair pick of the week! what a hunk, right? unfortunately no, he’s not just a guy on the street. google him- bryan greenberg. he was in that movie prime and on some wb show this fall, AND he plays the guitar. holy hell, too good to be true?
airam- im beginning to think i built this story up to be bigger than it really is. ha, oops.
brandy- “raise my temperature”- good one. i do remember that story about your house and the grandpa-like firemen. that’s too bad. about your house more so though than the grandpa-like firemen. but common, at least send a hot firemen when something like THAT happens, right? that wasn’t fair.
tbone- welcome back! you lucky lady you. i have heard that about some firemen. i guess that may have some truth to it, although the firemen i know are very loyal. who knows, right?
jeorg- ha, you make me laugh. a daily running workout?! good god.
b- the boys, haha. have you ever put one of your patients up to such a task? just wondering.
sizzle- come on baby light my fire! your comment makes me want to bust out that tune, was that no accident?
egan- yes i do know about that hottie you speak of. man. dont get me started on that movie.
egan- “yet” is damn right. time will tell.
July 26, 2007 at 11:56 pm
Exactly. I mean, let’s be honest here. When a girls home burns down and she’s lost EVERY PAIR OF SHOES SHE OWNS, she’s not looking for comfort through friends or food. She needs to forget her troubles by gazing at a brawny, sweaty hunk of a firefighter whom it’s okay to hug in her time of need. Yes. Two years have gone by and still feel like I was ripped off.
July 27, 2007 at 8:23 am
Go for the firemen, not the cops. I dated a cop. He ended up being very scary. I find that the cops I know (I know a few) have very big egos and tempers. At least the ones I know. Firemen are real rescuers, and they are in good shape and are hot hot hot. I agree. HOT.
July 27, 2007 at 12:31 pm
Oh, I totally forgot about the time when I was first married and the water pipe thing in our house froze and burst and we had a huge flood. The water shut off was stuck so I called and they sent out a bunch of firemen to help with it. There was a new guy that they were showing what to do, and he was very hot! If I hadn’t been just married….
When are you telling the story?
July 27, 2007 at 2:24 pm
I was thinking about you and your Fireman love. Do you watch Rescue Me on FX? A couple of those guys are hot.
July 27, 2007 at 3:39 pm
Why do you insist on visiting my blog still? Buzz off!
July 27, 2007 at 5:10 pm
brandy- damn right. you were ripped off.
steppingoverthejunk- hot hot hot. i think firemen should carry handcuffs just in case.
tori- what would you have done if you hadn’t just been married?? oh, there is no big sotry. im afraid i made it out to be more than it was. we talked a bit, he knows i drive a red car and wave at him. and i think he knows i dig firemen. i need a plan of how to get on a date with him.
amanda- no! and i have heard of it. i need to find out when it’s on and make a point to see it. ;)
egan- buzz off of my blog! alrighty then.
July 27, 2007 at 6:54 pm
Oh yes! It’s good. But it’s kind of raunchy. I will warn you. Because Denis Leary is the main character. So if that kind of stuff turns you off, you may just want to look up the cute actors playing the cute firefighters.
Oh, and I totally love your weekly good head of hair pick thing!! And a good pick this week, too!
July 28, 2007 at 11:15 am
Why do chicks like a man in any sort of uniform?
July 28, 2007 at 2:39 pm
amanda- does raunchy = kinky? if that’s the case then you know damn well it won’t phase me.
im glad you like the good head of hair pick! :)
angelcjr- i only speak for myself in saying, i just think it’s hot. HOT. some uniforms more than others, but for the most part, it’s just a turnon.
July 28, 2007 at 10:10 pm
Skrinkering by…I really can’t comment on this post, just skrinker along waiting for the next.
