I love steak tips.
There, I said it.
Though I dig a good burger, once in a while, it’s not very often enough to even write home about.
And I’m not even a big meat eater, but steak tips? You’re damn right. I’ve had a huge huge hankering for these suckers the past few weeks here. I can’t get enough of them! You tell me about marinated steak tips with a side of yummy veggies, eaten whilst sitting on a nice patio on a 73 degree breezy spring day, cold brewskis in front of me, and I swear I’m yours.
Come to think of it, that’s pretty much my idea of the perfect date. Though, dates, I’m not-a-havin for right now. Taking a little break from that circuit, but keeping my eyes peeled. Especially at Sox games or pubs slash lounges where games can be viewed on flat screen tvs, as I find that there are usually a few Good Looking Guys there also watching said games. I’m down with ever so sneakily scoping them out as I also swoon over Papelbon in conjunction. And I’ve recently been thinking that it would be cool to meet a dude at a Sporting Event. I have no real reasoning here, other than the fact that a girlfriend of mine met her future-husbie-to-be at a bar watching the game last year, and now they are planning their nuptials. It worked for them, so who knows.
And that’s all I really have to say today. I’m actually going out for steak tips tonight and I need to go pick out what shoes to wear for this Fun Adventure. I’ll try and take a real picture of The Tips, but sometimes it gets a bit tricky explaining why I have my camera out to capture random moments like this, to those friends (okay, the one and only friend) who doesn’t know I have a blog. We’ll see!

Papelbon is a weird weird dude. You need to find the cool sports fan. Not Obsessive sports fan.

Mmmm….steak tips. Mmmm…beer. Who needs men, right?
May 14, 2008 at 6:38 pm
I always thought it would be cool to meet a guy at a sporting event too. Not that it happened that way for me, but at least I met a guy who likes to attend sporting events.

May 14, 2008 at 7:15 pm

Feed me! If I wasn’t worried about cholesterol and fat I would eat red meat ever meal.
May 14, 2008 at 7:56 pm
Mmmm i actually like steak tips too…not such a fan of other forms of beef but this is one meal i can eat a lot of! :)
And i agree with you, i think it’d be a great way to meet a guy at a sporting event (bonus if you get to swoon over papelbon at the same time!) We need to get to work on this…

Steak tips are the candy of the beef world.

the best steak tip I ever had-
hold a firm fork and a light grip on the knife when you cut it…;-)

I have been craving SO many things today, and now? add steak tips to the mix.
Jeez, thanks.

The only problem with steak tips is they tend to be a bit too tough for me - easily overcooked. But, I’m sure Sweets would love them, because he likes his meat well done (though he’d claim it’s only medium)!

everyone is talking about food today!! there is this one place called chophouse brewery where i live and i crave their steak tips in this like guiness stout sauce with white cheddar mashed potatoes!! um, yum!

Totally agree on the steak tips…but for some reason, only in the summer. I have no desire to order them in a restaurant, but a huge love of cooking them on the grill. Maybe I should broaden my restauranting habits…
I had a second date once where the guy asked if we could change our plans because a special-needs kid that he had been mentoring had a baseball game and he wanted to go. Not quite the same thing, but I will admit to thinking very highly of him at the time;-)

The steak tips in the picture look delicious! I must admit though that I’ve never even tried them…they look good though, so maybe I should give them a try!

Ooh a meal on the balcony with some nice cold beer…sounds like you just gave me an idea for a date with the husband tomorrow night! You rock :)
And to answer your question from yesterday on my blog, yes, I am a master at parallel parking. I learned all by my lonesome in my grandmother’s boat of a buick.

I’m not entirely sure what steak tips are being not very beef inclined but that sounds like it would be an ideal date! If I am ever in Boston that’s what we’re doing!
May 15, 2008 at 11:59 am
How were the steak tips? What are they? What’s with all the weird capitalization of words in this post? I’ve always wanted to meet a woman while she was trying on clothes.

We make the steak tips with fresh summer vegetables from our garden and marinate them in teriaki sauce.
Good god they’re good!
I can’t wait!
May 15, 2008 at 1:32 pm
And yes. You have to have a nice cold one to go with it!

If you are ever in Oregon, YOU MUST COME to the Ringside. The best steak you have had in your life, it’s famous.

Sports guys… Not so much. But steak tips - I dig those!!! There’s a sports pub near my house. They have 75 TVs or something and all the satellite channels and my kids love to go there to eat ‘cuz they can watch sports while mom and I drink beer… I mean… eat dinner! Anyway, the place has a “Tip Menu” - Steak Tips, Turkey Tips, Pork Tips, Buffalo Tips, Lamb Tips, etc. You can get ‘em with rice and veggies or over a salad. Good stuff.
Dang… I’m salivating.
May 15, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Even I know the Ringside in Portland. It was just down the street from where I lived.

I admit I had to google steak tips, not having heard the term before. Sounds more decadent than a mere steak.

May 16, 2008 at 2:48 pm
Steak tips: great; NYC Chinese food rib tips: cooked crack. I have to order a small just so I don’t eat a large in one sitting.
May 16, 2008 at 10:09 pm

May 17, 2008 at 6:11 pm
I got the catalog today and I’ve been browsing the site off and on all day. How can anyone say no at these prices?
May 19, 2008 at 12:19 am
I think men are impressed when you are a *real* sportsfan and not an “OMG! I totally love baseball and stuff!” type of girl. I impressed my guy with my random hockey trivia!

unique engagement rings…
Antique style engagement rings are popular with many brides these days. One reason for this is because they are often sentimental in nature. Sometimes antique and vintage rings are passed down from generation to generation….
